A Myrtle Beach Police vehicle was struck by another vehicle Wednesday, according to a police Facebook post.

An officer responded near the 1200 block of Port Drive at 10:50 p.m. in reference to an overturned vehicle, the post said. The officer was called to help the South Carolina Highway Patrol to direct traffic.

At 11:15 p.m. the officers patrol vehicle was struck by another vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle was transported to the hospital to be check out, the post said. Neither the driver or the officer sustained injuries.

It is unclear from the post how the accident occurred, or if the driver of the other vehicle was charged.

The post did remind drivers who approach an active scene with police, fire, EMS or a tow truck to slow down and move over to keep those involved safe.
