Humidity levels have been creeping higher since Saturday and we are going to be back in the soup for today as well as the week ahead. We will also be dealing with a series of waves moving around the Bermuda high. It is building into the Southeastern US. A southwest flow aloft is bringing up ripples in the flow. It will not be raining all the time but there will be some downpours and a few heavier thunderstorms to deal with during the week ahead.

Do you feel that? Wind blowing out of the NW! Hasn’t been much of that this summer! Unfortunately, like the last few times, it will be brief. Dew-points into the 50’s and 60’s feels brisk when compared to the 70+ dew-points that have been so persistent. The drier air will stick around through the bulk of the weekend with dew points starting to creep back up by Sunday evening. Temps have also responded well post cold front and will remain slightly below average till about Sunday when temps will edge towards average. As we head into next week the humidity will return, but there’s a catch! The high temps will not be a package deal with the humidity next week, the above average temps don’t truly build back in until the end of next week. But wait! There’s more! The reason for the humidity but not the above average temps we’ve grown so accustom to is a period of unsettled weather beginning early next week.

We have arrived at Friday which of course is getaway day for the weekend. A new air mass is building into the Northeast and Northern Mid Atlantic and it brings with it drier air. Dew points are back down to the 50s and this means reasonable humidity. We will also have a good deal of sunshine today as highs will reach the low to middle 80s Satellite and radar views are quiet and clear and we have no rain in the forecast through Sunday. Most lows for Saturday morning inland will be in the upper 50s to lower 60s while warmer urban areas will be in the upper 60s to around 70.

People experiencing homelessness around Denver can sometimes be seen with these bloody, weeping wounds.
