MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – Good Sunday morning everyone! I hope that your day is off to a great start. It is comfortable outside. We finally got that pesky stalled front to our south. That allowed us to dry out, and see a little sunshine on Saturday. That sunshine returns today, and so does the lower humidity. Stepping out the door this morning you probably will notice it.

Today we will mostly sunny skies across the area. High temperatures along the coast will be in the mid 80’s, with a easterly breeze off the ocean. Inland we will see temperatures reach the upper 80s to low 90s. Again not as humid. Tonight those temperatures will fall back into the those comfortable range. Mid to upper 60s inland. Right around 70 along the coast. We will feel a little more humid along the coast tonight.

As the saying goes, all good things must come to and end. As we get back into Tuesday we will start to see the winds shift more southerly. That will bring back the warmth and humidity. Also the chance of seeing storms. The best chance of storms on Monday will be along and west of Interstate 95 in the western Pee Dee. On Tuesday the entire forecast area will see a chance to see some thunderstorms. Right now the main concern would be heavy rain. Recently we have see periods of heavy rain, so with saturated soil, the chance of see some isolated flooding is possible.

As we head towards the end the week, the pattern begins to turn hot and humid. In fact temperatures will return to the 90s, with high humidity levels. That means by Thursday into Friday high heat index values are likely. Heat advisories and excessive heat warnings may be needed for parts of the area. We will also keep an eye on the tropics, as the National Hurricane Center is monitoring a tropical wave in the Atlantic. Right now there is a moderate chance of it developing into a tropical entity. We will keep our eyes on it, and keep you up to date.
