Las Vegas Braces for Continued Heatwave and Potential Record Temperatures Amidst Southern California Wildfire Smoke
As the weekend rolls around, Las Vegas braces for more than just high rollers and neon lights — the city is also facing dry conditions and temperatures that are expected to hover around seasonal averages. The National Weather Service in Las Vegas states, "Expect dry conditions through the weekend with temperatures within a few degrees of seasonal averages."
Cal Fire continuing to make progress on Hill Fire
EUREKA, Calif. — According to Cal Fire, so far five fire fighters have been injured battling the Hill Fire. "The normal injuries that we do have on fires are going to be twisted ankles, heat exhaustion, things of those nature, but all of them are not in critical condition at this time," said Cal Fire Deputy Chief Lucas Spelman who also says some buildings have been damaged in the Hill Fire.

Vehicle vs. Bicyclist Collision Near Eureka Mall
Emergency personnel were dispatched to the 800 block of West Harris Street in Eureka for a report of a vehicle vs. pedestrian around 10:40 a.m. Traffic on both sides of the Eureka Mall, where the collision was reported to have occurred, appeared to be congested, West Henderson Street on the north side of the shopping mall remains congested at this time.

Thousands evacuate season's biggest wildfire in northern California
A huge, fast-moving and rapidly growing wildfire in northern California has forced more than 4,000 people to evacuate as firefighters battle gusty winds and perilously dry conditions, authorities said Friday.
