Castle Hills used to be THE place to live just below the wealthy scions of 78209 (come on kids, get in the Mercedes, we're going to Chucky Cheese for dinner, please remove your shoes while you're in the car!"). That was back in the dark ages when I was young. You couldn't pay me to live in San Antonio these days or even Bexar County. You can't keep teachers because parents want to be their kids friends instead of parents. The Hill Country is rocky, expensive and full of mesquites and Mountain Cedar. 🤧 I prefer living south of Bexar County. Huge live oak trees, soil is sandy loam and for us seniors, yearly property and school tax combined in the triple digits, way less than a thousand a year.
