Winnebago, Boone properties going up for auction

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — More than 250 properties in Winnebago and Boone counties are set to be sold to the highest bidder in April.

The properties will be sold as part of the Trustee Land Auction, allowing the counties to unload foreclosed parcels back to the public with a clean title.

Some plots have a house or other structure, and some are vacant lots.

The R1 Planning Council will act as an agent for the public auction, with parcels offered at a minimum bid of $500 for vacant land and $1,000 for land with a structure.
