Cortlyn Hefty scores three goals, but Belvidere North’s season ends

BELVIDERE, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — Cortlyn Hefty was brilliant as usual scoring three goals, but Belvidere North saw its soccer season end with a 5-3 loss to Burlington Central at the Belvidere 2A Sectional Wednesday.

Hefty’s three goals helped the Blue Thunder play to a 3-3 tie. It was that way until midway through the second half when the Rockets scored a pair of goals. North couldn’t answer although the Blue Thunder did have multiple shots on goal.

Burlington Central advances to the sectional championship game on Friday against Boylan.
