Former North Boone standout Chandler Alderman earns Conference USA honors

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — North Boone graduate Chandler Alderman has put together a very strong regular season for the baseball team at Middle Tennessee State University. This week he received two major honors.

He was named to the Conference USA All-Conference Second Team, and he was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman team.

Alderman pitched a no-hitter earlier this season for the Blue Raiders. It was only the fourth no-hitter in school history. The big lefty also leads the Blue Raiders in strikeouts this season with 67 in 62.1 innings pitched.

Alderman has appeared in 17 games, ten of those were starts. He has two complete games. His record is 3-5. His ERA is 5.34.

Middle Tennessee State has a record of 42-15. The Blue Raiders are currently competing in the Conference USA Tournament. When their season is over, Alderman plans to suit up at least part of this summer with the Rockford Rivets in the Northwoods League.
