BELVIDERE, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — For the second time in two weeks, Belvidere North’s baseball team was a major thorn in the side of Boylan. Last Thursday, the Blue Thunder rallied for a walk-off win against the Titans to deny Boylan a piece of the NIC-10 championship. This time North defeated the Titans ending their season in a 3A regional semifinal game Thursday afternoon.

North jumped out to a 10-3 lead and then held on for the win as Boylan tried to rally this time. Logan Koeller was North’s starting pitcher. He did his job working 4 1/3 innings allowing only four hits and two earned runs.

Connor Dennis had some control issues on the hill for Boylan. He allowed seven runs in 2 2/3 innings, however five of those runs were unearned. Belvidere North batters drew seven walks in the game.

North improves its record to 14-14. The Blue Thunder will play for their own 3A regional championship Saturday at 10 a.m. against Burlington Central.
