South Beloit’s Garden Hotel is on the verge of being torn down

SOUTH BELOIT, Ill. (WTVO) — The condemned Garden Hotel in South Beloit is closer than ever to being demolished.

The city will continue taking bids to demo the hotel until tomorrow morning.

In April, a judge granted the request of city leaders to tear down the old hotel. It was shut down 5 years ago after an order from the health department.

Since then, the new owner has been accused of multiple code violations and has been fined nearly $9 million.

Sealed bids can be dropped off at South Beloit City Hall until 10 a.m.
