ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police arrested Lashawnda Henry, 34, for allegedly hitting a woman with a landscape light in the head multiple times until she seized.

On August 13th, around 1:30 a.m., officers were called to the 1100 block of School Street for a mutual fight, according to multiple witnesses.

One witness saw Henry grab a landscape light and hit the victim in the head several times, according to court records. The woman also was not fighting anyone during the incident and was on the ground when she was hit on the head, authorities said.

The witness told officials he took the light out of the suspect’s hand. She proceeded to grab a piece of wood but was stopped again.

The victim went unconscious and started seizing, according to court documents.

Henry is being charged with aggravated battery with great bodily harm and aggravated battery in a public place.
