ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Police arrested Roberto Parra, 44, for allegedly using excessive force to enter a home causing the door frame to break and hit a pregnant woman.

On August 15, around 12:30 a.m., offers responded to the 500 block of Fitch Road for a domestic battery incident. The woman said the incident started when Parra started yelling at her, according to officials.

A witness intervened and Parra left the house, according to court documents. The victim told authorities she went to lock the door when the suspect used excessive force, causing the door frame to break and hit her in the eye.

Another witness said he also hit the other witness in the face as he walked out of the house to his car, reports said.

Parra is being charged with aggravated battery of a pregnant woman, two counts of domestic battery and criminal property damage.
