Historic Rockford Building, owners win awards for preservation

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A historic building in Rockford, The Midtown Faust, gains statewide recognition.

The Midtown Faust is the winner of a 2024 Landmark Illinois Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Preservation Award. The Midtown Faust Company, led by Brad and Sue Roos, received the rehabilitation award.

The couple led the restoration of the building in Rockford by focusing on craftsmanship and sustainability.

The Midtown Faust first opened in 1920. Currently, it is home to a pottery studio and office space for a local non-profit.
