ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — More abandoned properties in Winnebago and Boone Counties will go up for auction on Tuesday, in the hope of turning them over to responsible taxpayers.

The properties have either been foreclosed or seized from delinquency and can now be sold with a clean title.

Bidding on the 64 properties begins on Tuesday at 11 a.m. and closes on September 4th.

Some plots have a house or other structure, and some are vacant lots.

The last Trustee Land Auction took place in March and auctioned off 170 properties.

The R1 Planning Council will act as an agent for the public auction, with parcels offered at a minimum bid of $500 for vacant land and $1,000 for land with a structure.
