Woman killed, another hospitalized in Saturday morning crash in Boone County

GARDEN PRAIRIE, Ill. (WTVO) — A Capron woman was killed and a Loves Park woman was sent to the hospital following a collision in Boone County Saturday morning.

According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, a 2014 Hyundai Accent, driven by Judy Streit, 74, was southbound on Boone/McHenry County Road when she failed to yield at the intersection of Woodstock Road and was struck by a 2018 Kia Soul driven by a 67-year-old woman from Loves Park.

Streit was pronounced dead at the scene. The Loves Park woman was taken to a Rockford hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
