Murder charges dismissed against man in 2020 murder case

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Murder charges against Demarcus Latin, 33, were dismissed in the killing of 54-year-old Andre Bowlds, according to court records.

According to Rockford Police, officers were called to a home in the 2100 block of Parmele Street on Monday, October 12th around 10:45 a.m. to conduct a welfare check.

Police found the victim deceased when entering the home. The coroner found the cause of death to be blunt force trauma to the head.

Latin was identified as a suspect and charged at the Winnebago County Jail in 2020, where he was held as a suspect in 25 retail thefts in the area .

Latin is still in custody for possession of a stolen motor vehicle and is due to appear in court on September 20th, 2024.

I don't know what happened.. but I know for a fact that it is NOT the type of person DeMarcus is. I haven't seen him in a few years. I know time and situations can change people. but I have lived on my own since, I was 19 years old, now in later 30's. I NEVER met or had a neighbor, that invited me and my fam(ily) over for dinner 🍽️, when they just moved in the apartment complexes area themselves. A kind compassionate person, I know and met. never what a half truth news article say.
