Police: Rockford man asked to leave house after staying 4 days, punches owner multiple times

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Police arrested Raymond Alexander, 50, for allegedly punching a 66-year-old man after he was asked to leave after four days in the victim’s house.

On September 10, around 8:57 p.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of Rockwell Street for a battery complaint.

The victim told police he asked Alexander to leave because he had already spent four days at his house “hanging out.” The victim went on to say the suspect does not like to be told what to do.

Alexander punched the victim about 7 times on the left side of his face causing swelling and bleeding in the victim’s ear, according to court records.

A witness told officials she also saw the suspect strike the 66-year-old man multiple times.

Authorities found Alexander at Auburn and Kilburn and he told authorities he did not recall the incident. After resisting arrest, the suspect was taken into custody.

Alexander is being charged with aggravated battery to a victim 60 or older, resisting an officer and battery making physical contact.
