MONROE CENTER, Ill. (WTVO) — Two people were injured Saturday after the occupants of a black Nissan ran a stop sign, causing a crash, and then fled the scene, according to police.

The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to Illinois Route 72 and North Mulford Road around 11:30 p.m.

Police said the Nissan was headed northbound on North Mulford Road when ran the stop sign at IL Route 72 and crashed into a gray Hyundai.

Police said an adult man and the driver were taken to the hospital but are expected to recover.

Authorities have not announced an arrest, but the investigation is ongoing.
