Man found dead along railroad tracks in Dixon

DIXON, Ill. (WTVO) — Police in Lee County say a man was killed by a passing train early Tuesday morning.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a location a mile west of Wadsworth Way and Railway Road around 8:10 a.m. and found the body.

An investigation determined he had been struck by a passing train. The coroner pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police said no further details were available, and the name of the deceased was withheld.
