BMO Center unveils new seats

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Ice Hogs’ fans can look forward to enjoying a game in new comfy chairs this coming season.

The BMO Center unveiled new seating on September 25th. The project was funded by the team’s capital reserve and cost about $1 million.

The seats feature a more comfortable design with some seats including padding and cupholders.

The new seating was a separate renovation from the 23-million-dollar, 3-phase overhaul in progress. The Hockey Team’s President of Business Operations Ryan Snider said the seats are just the beginning.

“Over the last four offseasons, I like to say almost every piece of the building has been touched in some way. Been improved in some way. So, this is just the latest round of that,” said Snider. “It’s arguably one of the more impactful ones because as you come out to a game or event, you’re spending the bulk of your time in a seat. So now we have a new comfortable seat for you while you’re there, hopefully this will just add to the experience.”

The Icehogs kick off their season versus the Grand Rapids Griffins on October 12th.
