Capri Pizza cuts the ribbon on new restaurant

LOVES PARK, Ill. (WTVO) — A beloved Italian restaurant is making its triumphant return to the Stateline.

The new location of Capri is at 6480 East Riverside Boulevard in Loves Park. The original location on State Street was closed due to fire damage in 2022.

The new location will still be serving up the classics while also offering new items. Gluten-free options will be coming in October.

Employees said the new restaurant is a great blend between the old and new.

“What we tried to do here is capture a little bit of the old – obviously now the location being new – but going back to the roots of what built the old place,” said Capri Pizza’s Domenic Grisanzio. “So some of the memories on the wall you’ll see when you come in. And then also the food, right? The food being consistent, from what it always was.”

Capri will officially be open to the public on Saturday 28th at 4 p.m.
