ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — One of the largest World War Two reenactments is taking place in the forest city this weekend.

The Midway Village puts on the event every year and gets over 1,000 people to be a part of the reenactment. Thousands of spectators also gathered to learn about this time in history.

The village displays 70 World War vehicles which is only a glimpse into what the event has to offer. Those putting on the show said this is planned months in advance.

“What I enjoy is seeing the public out here. You see grandma and Grandpa bringing their grandkids out here and the kids looking at the tanks and the soldiers and the guns and the pyrotechnics,” said Marketing and Communications Director Luke Fredrickson.

World War Two Days continues tomorrow from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
