    Loves Park man killed in early-morning car crash

    ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) – A man has died from his injuries after crashing his car early Monday morning in Rockford.

    According to the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office, Jordan King, 32, of Loves Park, was traveling southbound in the 2700 block of North Alpine Road around 2:15 a.m. and crossed over the center median, crashing into a tree off the roadway.

    King was the only occupant of the car.

    He was pronounced dead at 2:50 a.m.

    An autopsy concluded that King died from blunt trauma to the chest and abdomen.

    The crash remains under investigation by the Rockford Police Department.
