ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — According to police, three teen suspects robbed a victim in an online meetup and were then chased “by unknown subjects,” resulting in a shootout in broad daylight that ended in a crash at Guilford and Mulford Roads on Tuesday.

According to the arrest report, a teen met up with the three suspects whom with he had arranged to meet up with online, to buy vaping cartridges. During the transaction, authorities said the victim got into the suspect’s stolen white 2017 Hyundai Tuscon SUV, and the occupants pulled handguns on him. He was pushed out of the vehicle and then suffered a broken ankle when the suspects drove away.

Police said “two unknown subjects” then got into another vehicle and chased the suspects in the stolen SUV.
