DEKALB COUNTY, Ill. (WTVO) — Two cars collided, injuring 5 total occupants, at the intersection of Route 23 and Perry Road after a grey Toyota Prius ran a stop sign.

On Friday, around 4 p.m., the Prius ignored a stop sign and crashed into a green F-800 truck on Route 23.

The truck was pushed into a ditch and stopped in a field close to the intersection.

All five occupants in the Pruis were taken to Northwestern Kishwaukee Hospital and a three-year-old was airlifted to Loyola Children’s Hospital with severe injuries.

The driver of the F-800 was not injured.

The Prius driver was cited for disobeying a stop sign.

I saw the aftermath of that incident today. It looked bad! Prayer sent for the people involved especially the three year old.
