What were these Rockford businesses before they became Spirit Halloween stores?

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) – Spirit Halloween stores continue to pop up across the Rockford region.

There are three Spirit stores in greater Rockford. Each is temporarily located in a space that was occupied by other businesses.

Here’s a list of Rockford’s Spirit Halloween stores and the businesses that were previously in their spaces.

7200 Harrison Ave., Rockford

Although it has a Rockford address, technically, this Spirit store is in Cherry Valley’s CherryVale Mall, operating in the space that was vacated in 2018 by Bergner’s. Bergner’s is now part of BrandX.com .

1505 E. Riverside Blvd., Loves Park

Spirit Halloween in Loves Park shares its building with Sherwin William and American Freight Discount Furniture. At one time, the building was an Osco store.

6669 E. State St., Rockford

Next to Gustafson’s Furniture and Mattress, Spirit Halloween on East Street Street is in a space that was previously occupied by Half Price Books and discount store Tuesday Morning.

Half Price Books closed 2023 after moving in not long after Tuesday Morning closed in 2015.

Spirit Christmas

Owned by Spencer’s Spirit Holdings, Spirit is expanding into the Christmas market with 10 locations ahead of the 2024 holiday season.

All 10 shops plan to offer photos and meet-and-greets with Santa Claus, who doubles as the brand’s mascot.

• Eria, Pennsylvania – Mill Creek Mall
• Waterford, Connecticut – Crystal Mall
• Dartmouth, Massachusetts – Faunce Corner Shopping Center
