    Freeport man, subject of high profile June arrest, re-arrested in Rockford

    ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Three suspects from Freeport, including one man previously arrested for threatening security personnel at a Rockford Walmart store, were arrested Friday night.

    According to the Rockford Police Department, officers with the Specialized Community Oriented Police Enforcement (SCOPE) team attempted to stop a car near Central and Preston around 9 p.m., but the occupants drove away.

    Police later encountered the vehicle in the 3100 block of N. Central Avenue.

    During the investigation, police found 34 grams of cannabis and a handgun that had been reported stolen in Rockford.

    Abdulameer Abdulameer, 19, was charged with Aggravated Fleeing and various traffic offenses.

    On June 4th, Adbulameer allegedly threatened a Walmart security guard , at the store located at 7219 Walton Street, after he was asked to leave the premises. Police pursued him to the parking lot of Home Goods, at 6630 E. State Street, where his arrest was captured on bystander video . He faces charges of Aggravated Assault on Public Property, Aggravated Assault of a Private Security Officer, Criminal Trespass, and Disorderly Conduct, all misdemeanor charges, for that incident.

    Darien Jackson, 18, was charged with Possession of Cannabis, a misdemeanor.

    An unnamed juvenile suspect, 17, was charged with Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and No Valid Firearm Owners Identification.

    The teen was lodged in juvenile detention.

    Jackson was released from custody.

    Abdulameer is currently in the Winnebago County Jail. The State has filed a motion to revoke the pretrial release he was granted for the June 4th incident.
