ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Not everyone can afford a decked-out costume and accessories for Halloween, and a local group is raising money to help all kids have fun.

This year will be the 6th running of the “Festival of Frights” at Sinnissippi Park, at 1401 N 2nd Street, a drive-thru Halloween light display that’s free to attend, but donations are accepted.

Donations go to families in need in the Rockford area.

“We actually have the children, who are in need in the city, go to one of our few designated Halloween stores and they get to pick out the exact costume that they need.” said founder Jennifer Roser. “That’s my favorite part of the ‘Festival of Frights,’ giving the costumes to the families, because the kids are very happy, the mothers are very thankful.”

Festival of Frights runs October 25th through the 31st, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.
