ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford police arrested 35-year-old Edward Sudzilovsky, of Chicago, Thursday, after crews responded to two dumpster fires.

According to the Rockford Fire Department, at around 9:31 p.m., firefighters were called to JJ’s Fish & Chicken, 215 Seventh St., for reports of two fires in dumpsters in the rear of the building.

Investigators determined the fires were intentionally started and were able to identify Sudzilosky as the suspect.

Authorities say they are currently “reviewing additional information related to other recent fires in the same area.”

Sudzilosky, who has a Chicago address, was booked into the Winnebago County Jail on charges of arson and criminal damage to property. He is also facing disorderly conduct charges stemming from a Sept. 3, 2023, incident.
