Rockford Jefferson’s Lashawn Gathright a force on offense and defense for the J-Hawks

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — Whenever teams play Rockford Jefferson, the first thing they have to account for is where Lashawn Gathright is on the field. Gathright is one of the best players in the NIC-10 whether he’s playing offense at running back or defense at end.

Gathright has rushed for more than 1,000 yards this season. On defense he’s a disruptive force rushing off the edge putting heat on quarterbacks and chasing down running backs before they get a chance to get out on the edge.

Gathright was an all-conference player on defense last year as a junior. He could and probably should make all-conference on both sides of the ball this year. He’s the subject of our “Overtime” spotlight segment this week.
