The incident involved multiple gunshots being fired at vehicles and individuals, according to a press release from the Beaumont Police Department.As officers arrived, they observed one of the suspects, later identified as 32-year-old Brian Murphy, attempting to flee the scene in a Ford F-150. Officers initiated a traffic stop as the vehicle exited the parking lot. The investigation led to the discovery of two firearms, both with extended magazines, as well as narcotics inside the vehicle.Prior to the shots fired call, Murphy was observed on surveillance cameras via FUSUS software, discharging a firearm at several vehicles and individuals in the parking lot. A BPD Patrol Sergeant utilizing Real Time Crime Center technology provided officers with real-time updates, which significantly contributed to the successful apprehension of Murphy and the additional occupants of the vehicle.Although no victims were present when police arrived, numerous witnesses were observed on camera at the time of the incident, some narrowly escaping being struck by gunfire. Detectives are urging anyone who was present at the Shell station during the shooting to come forward and cooperate with the investigation. Murphy has been arrested and charged with Deadly Conduct and Felon in Possession of a Firearm, but victim cooperation is essential to advancing the investigation.The parking lot at 3145 Concord has been identified as an area of concern during "after hours," when individuals gather after the closure of nearby clubs and bars. In recent years, this location has been the site of a homicide, the severe beating of a man, and multiple shots fired incidents.The Beaumont Police Department, in collaboration with SNS Grocery management, is dedicated to tackling the persistent issues at this location and safeguarding the community.
