Unknown male suspects steal over $2,600 in merchandise and cash from Odessa stores
ODESSA, Texas - A series of thefts at local stores in Odessa has resulted in losses exceeding $2,600, according to a press release from the Odessa Police Department. An unknown male stole approximately $436 worth of merchandise from the HEB located at 2501 W. University. Another unknown male took approximately $304 worth of merchandise from the Walmart at 4210 N. JBS Parkway, while a third unknown male stole approximately $449 worth of merchandise from the Walmart at 2450 NW Loop 338. Additionally, an unknown male stole a wallet containing over $1,500 in cash, credit cards, and other personal documents from a basket at Sam's Club. Anyone who recognizes any of these suspects is encouraged to contact Detective M. Troglin at 432-284-2012 or Odessa Crime Stoppers at 432-333-TIPS.
SWAT Team arrests man hiding in attic
PORT ARTHUR, Texas - A high-risk arrest warrant for Michael Spain led to a standoff and eventual capture by the Port Arthur Police Department's SWAT Team early this morning.At approximately 6:30 a.m., U.S. Marshals from the Beaumont Division and Port Arthur police officers attempted to execute the warrant in the 2000 block of 12th Street. Communication issues arose, and Spain refused to exit the residence, according to a press release from the Port Arthur Police Department. Officers used the homeowner's key to enter the home, and SWAT Team members were called to assist.Spain was believed to be hiding in the attic. SWAT Team members climbed into the attic and located Spain, who was taken into custody without further incident. Michael Spain was arrested on a warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Traffic stop leads to felony arrest in Harris County
HOUSTON, Texas — A traffic stop in Harris County led to the arrest of a 55-year-old man on felony charges, authorities said. On July 6, 2024, at approximately 5:43 PM, Deputy Haroun of the Harris County Precinct 8 Constable's Office initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for failing to signal in the 18200 block of Gulf Freeway. The driver, identified as Rocky Zeno Pantalion, was found to be without a driver's license or insurance, according to a statement from the Constable's Office.
