Houston police investigate fatal shooting of juvenile male
HOUSTON, Texas — Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a juvenile male and the wounding of another male at 4001 Corder Street about 1:25 p.m. last Friday. The identity of the deceased victim, 16, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Clark and N. Nicotra reported that HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex at the above address and found an unresponsive juvenile male with gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.
Motorcyclist dies in crash on Blalock Road
HOUSTON, Texas — A 29-year-old man died in a motorcycle crash on Blalock Road Saturday evening, according to Houston police. The man, whose identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, was riding a red Yamaha YZF-R1 motorcycle northbound when he lost control and struck the curb of a center median. The motorcycle landed on the grassy area of the median, and Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the man deceased at the scene, according to a press release from the Houston Police Department.

Bastrop man sentenced to 25 years for sexual exploitation of a minor
AUSTIN, Texas — A Bastrop man was sentenced in federal court to 300 months in prison for sexual exploitation of a minor. According to court documents, 41-year-old Stuart Mitchell Pieper, of Bastrop, Texas, was a member of a private chat group on a social networking application. In July and August 2023, Pieper used the account to post multiple images depicting the sexual abuse of children. Pieper also discussed, in the group chat and in direct messages, how he was “grooming” female children for sexual activity.
Dallas police arrest suspect in fatal shooting on Bruton Road
DALLAS, Texas - Dallas police have arrested a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on July 21, 2024. At approximately 9:00 PM, officers responded to a shooting call in the 9800 block of Bruton Road. Upon arrival, they discovered 44-year-old Keeman Bowens lying on the ground with gunshot wounds. Dallas Fire Rescue responded, but Bowens was pronounced dead at the scene. Further investigation led to the identification of the suspect as 25-year-old Iyanna Wells. Wells was subsequently arrested and charged with murder, according to a press release from the Dallas Police Department. This remains an ongoing investigation and is documented under case number 111933-2024.
Dallas police arrest two suspects in fatal shooting
DALLAS, Texas - A woman was fatally shot early Monday morning in Dallas, leading to the arrest of two suspects, police say. On July 22, 2024, at approximately 1:05 AM, Dallas police responded to a shooting call in the 2000 block of Lanark Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found a female victim who had been shot. Dallas Fire Rescue responded, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Further investigation identified the suspects as 26-year-old Keiona Hargis and 21-year-old Deiontay Horn.
