Texans sign former Lions WR Quintez Cephus
The Houston Texans have signed free agent wide receiver Quintez Cephus, according to his agents. SportsTrust Advisors announced the deal on Tuesday but did not disclose any contract terms. Cephus, 26, missed the entire 2023 season while serving a suspension for violating the NFL's gambling policy. He was reinstated by the league in April and signed with the Buffalo Bills, who released him on May 16. AUSTIN, Texas — A federal grand jury in Austin has indicted a felon on three counts related to alleged drug trafficking and firearm possession. According to court documents, 34-year-old Cliofa Delacruz, of Austin, Texas, a four-time convicted felon, was arrested by Austin Police officers after allegedly ramming a law enforcement vehicle while evading. Delacruz is alleged to have possessed methamphetamine and a loaded firearm inside his vehicle.

ELGIN, Texas — A man was arrested following a fatal shooting on E US Hwy 290, police say. At 7:08 p.m. on July 16, 2024, Elgin Police Department officers responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a disturbance and shots fired near County Line Road. Officers discovered Joseph Stanczyk, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. Fabian Salas was subsequently arrested and charged with murder, according to the Elgin Police Department. Salas was booked into the Travis County Jail, and bond has not yet been set.

Couple Found Dead in Abilene in Apparent Murder-Suicide
