AUSTIN, Texas - A fatal stabbing on Burton Drive has led to the arrest of a 34-year-old suspect, according to the Austin Police Department.On July 24, 2024, at approximately 10:29 a.m., Austin Police Department officers responded to a Shoot/Stab Hotshot call at 2101 Burton Drive. The caller reported a stabbing incident. Officers and Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services arrived on the scene and found a subject with injuries consistent with a stab wound. Despite life-saving measures, the victim, later identified as Javier Antonio Navarro Quesada, a 23-year-old Hispanic male, was pronounced deceased at the scene.Homicide detectives and crime scene specialists processed the scene and interviewed witnesses. The investigation revealed that the altercation stemmed from a stolen vehicle. Alex Trevino, a 34-year-old Hispanic male, was arrested and booked into the Travis County Jail on a murder charge.This case marks Austin's 36th homicide of 2024. SAN LEON, Texas - A search warrant executed by the Galveston County Sheriff's Office and the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force led to the arrest of a San Leon adult on Thursday.Paige Tribble, a 37-year-old, was detained along with another adult occupant at a residence in the 2600 Block of Avenue H. During the search, child sexual abuse material was discovered on Tribble's electronic devices, according to the Galveston County Sheriff's Office.The Galveston County District Attorney's Office accepted three charges of Possession of Child Pornography against Tribble, with a total bond set at $80,000. All evidence was seized, and Tribble was taken into custody and transported to the Galveston County Jail without incident.
Man leads deputies on foot pursuit, arrested on drug charges
HOUSTON, Texas - A man led deputies on a foot pursuit and was arrested on drug charges after a disturbance at an apartment complex, authorities said.On July 15, 2024, at approximately 3:07 PM, Deputy Cartlidge of the Harris County Precinct 8 Constable's Office responded to a disturbance at an apartment complex in the 4300 block of S Shaver, according to a press release from the department. The witness reported a male who appeared to be on drugs in a vacant apartment. As deputies approached, the suspect, identified as 38-year-old Antonio Proenza Perez, ran through the apartment and jumped out of an open window.Deputies pursued Perez on foot and used a Taser to subdue him safely. A check of Perez's information revealed an open warrant through the Bexar County Sheriff's Office. During a search of his belongings, deputies found a BB gun, a crowbar, and 10.5 grams of methamphetamine.The Harris County District Attorney's Office accepted additional charges for evading arrest/detention and possession of a controlled substance. Perez was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center, where his bonds were set at $5,100 total.

MARSHALL, Texas - The Marshall Police Department has arrested three individuals in connection with a drive-by shooting that occurred in the early morning hours of July 25.Abdiel Vences, 18, Jordan Hernandez, 17, and one juvenile were apprehended after Marshall Emergency Communications received a call just after midnight from someone who had been shot at in the 1200 block of East Bowie. Responding patrol officers found that no one was injured, according to the Marshall Police Department.Subsequent investigation led to the identification of the suspects. Abdiel Vences was charged with Aggravated Assault With a Deadly Weapon, Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, Failure to Identify/Giving False/Fictitious Information, and Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz. Jordan Hernandez was charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity and Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon. GALVESTON, Texas - A Galveston man was arrested after authorities found him in possession of significant quantities of drugs and a stolen handgun.On July 25, 2024, the Galveston County Organized Crime Task Force and Galveston Police Department Special Operations Division executed a search warrant at an apartment in the 5000 block of Avenue K, according to the Galveston County Sheriff's Office. Prior to the search, detectives observed 39-year-old Darrington Joiner, of Galveston, Texas, leaving the residence, leading to a traffic stop where Joiner was found with 34 grams of crack cocaine.Upon executing the search warrant at the residence, detectives discovered over 5,000 grams of codeine, 104 grams of PCP, and a handgun confirmed to be stolen out of Galveston, Texas. The Galveston County District Attorney's Office accepted charges of Delivery of CS PG 1 >=4G<200G x2 and Possession of CS PG 4 >=400G on Joiner, with a total bond set at $450,000.All evidence was seized, and Joiner was transported to the Galveston County Jail without incident, stated the department.
