Harris County Constables apprehend man wanted for murder, manslaughter
HOUSTON, Texas — Deputies with Constable Mark Herman's Special Operations Unit have taken an adult male into custody in the 4400 block of Spring Cypress Road. On July 11, 2024, deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle call in the 4400 block of Spring Cypress Road. It was reported that the vehicle was loitering in the area of a gun store in which the power was out. Deputies located the vehicle and discovered that the vehicle's owner, Urick Howell, had an open warrant for murder/manslaughter.

MUSKOGEE, Oklahoma — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is looking into an officer-involved shooting that occurred in Muskogee early Friday morning. Just after midnight, Muskogee County deputies responded to a business near South 32nd Street and West Smith Ferry Road following reports of a possible armed robbery, according to a press release from the Muskogee County Sheriff's Office. Upon arrival, deputies encountered 24-year-old Matthew Dylan Lucht, who was armed. A shooting ensued as deputies attempted to make contact with Lucht.

LAREDO, Texas — Authorities shot and killed a mountain lion in a residential area of Laredo after police say the animal threatened public safety.The Laredo Police Department confirmed visual identification of the mountain lion near the 100 block of Crest Lane. Residents in the area were advised to stay indoors and secure their pets until the Game Wardens could contain the animal. Law enforcement established a perimeter around the location to ensure public safety.The situation escalated when the mountain lion attempted to escape from a backyard into a neighboring property. Due to the animal's aggressive behavior and survival instincts, authorities say they were forced to neutralize it to prevent potential danger to the community. "We were hoping for a better outcome but were left with no choice due to the potential danger the surrounding neighborhood would have been exposed to if the feline escaped and encountered a person or domesticated animal in its path," stated the Laredo Police Department.No officers or community members were harmed during the incident. Game Wardens were present alongside Laredo PD at the time of the event. "Our primary mission is the safety and security of the community," emphasized the department.

HOUSTON, Texas — Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 23200 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) around 1:40 a.m. today. Odessa man sentenced to 30 years for carjacking and firearm discharge
MIDLAND, Texas — An Odessa man has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for carjacking and discharging a firearm during a violent crime. Isaac Ramirez Carrasco, 38, carjacked a couple on January 30 by pointing a shotgun at the driver and ordering both occupants out of their vehicle, according to court documents. When the victim did not initially comply, Carrasco fired the shotgun into the air before returning his aim to the victim. The couple eventually exited the truck, and Carrasco drove away in it. Odessa Police tracked the truck to a nearby residence, where they found Carrasco and the shotgun.
