QUINLAN, Texas - Authorities are seeking public assistance in locating 19-year-old Deleon Jerome Fryar, who was last seen on July 17, 2024.Fryar, a Black male, stands 5'10" tall and weighs 160 pounds. He has brown eyes, black hair with sideburns, and a goatee mustache. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a white t-shirt, neon green shorts, black tennis shoes, and carrying a black backpack, according to the Hunt County Sheriff's Office.Fryar was last observed walking southbound on State Highway 34 towards Terrell. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact the Hunt County Sheriff's Office at 903-453-6800.

Smith County firefighters rescue dog from house fire
SMITH COUNTY, Texas — A vehicle fire that spread to a house prompted a swift response from Smith County Emergency Services District 2, resulting in the rescue of a dog.Engine 132 was the first to arrive at the scene, encountering heavy smoke and fire. The crew made a fast interior attack and found the homeowners' dog during the primary search, rescuing the animal. Battalion Chief 2 arrived shortly after and established command, while Engines 122 and 136 also responded. The crew from Engine 122 went interior, and the crew from Engine 136 established a rapid intervention team (RIT). Engine 128's crew was staged to replace firefighters as they exited the building.Volunteer firefighters assisted with the water supply at the roadway. In total, Smith County Emergency Services District 2 responded with 13 career firefighters, a Battalion Chief, a Training Captain, and three volunteer firefighters. No injuries were reported, according to the press release from Smith County Emergency Services District 2.
