Dallas police investigate fatal shooting on Grigsby Avenue
DALLAS, Texas - A man was fatally shot Saturday night in Dallas, prompting an ongoing investigation, police say. On July 20, 2024, at about 9:55 PM, Dallas police responded to a shooting call in the 1000 block of Grigsby Avenue. The preliminary investigation determined that when officers arrived, they found 31-year-old Brione Jacquil Spencer, of Dallas, Texas, shot and lying on the ground. Dallas Fire Rescue responded and transported Spencer to a local hospital where he died, according to a press release from the Dallas Police Department. This remains an ongoing investigation that will be documented under case number 111458-2024. Dallas police investigate early morning fatal shooting
DALLAS, Texas - A man was found shot and killed early Sunday morning in Dallas, police say. On July 21, 2024, at approximately 3:55 a.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting call in the 3300 block of W. Pentagon Parkway. Upon arrival, officers discovered 31-year-old Patrick Lee Island II lying on the ground with gunshot wounds. Dallas Fire Rescue responded, but Island was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a press release from the Dallas Police Department. The investigation is ongoing and will be documented under case number 111594-2024. LITTLE ELM, Texas - Authorities have recovered the body of a deceased person from a remote part of Lewisville Lake, according to the Little Elm Police Department.The Denton County Medical Examiner will assist with the investigation, and the body will be transported to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner for identification. Historic Dallas Chapel engulfed in four-alarm fire
DALLAS, Texas - More than 60 units from Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to a four-alarm fire at the historic chapel of the First Baptist Church on San Jacinto Street in Downtown Dallas.Crews arrived within four minutes of the initial call at 6:05 p.m. and were confronted with heavy smoke and fire conditions, according to Dallas Fire-Rescue. A second alarm was quickly requested at 6:20 p.m. Shortly after a third alarm was called at 7:25 p.m., a partial collapse of the structure occurred. Fire operations were defensive, and a fourth alarm was called at 8:14 p.m.Firefighters worked into the night until the fire was knocked down and contained. The structure largely collapsed, and firefighting operations began to significantly shut down around 2 to 3 a.m. Crews stayed on scene through the night to ensure safety and continue extinguishing hot spots.During the investigation, it was determined that the building was inaccessible due to the lack of structural integrity. If structural engineers determine the building is unstable, the historic structure will be demolished. No injuries were reported in association with this incident.The fire is being classified as undetermined at this time. The ATF is assisting with this investigation, as requested by Dallas Fire-Rescue.
Kerrville police seek murder suspect after fatal shooting
KERRVILLE, Texas — The Kerrville Police Department is searching for Gabriel Rene Aleman, a 29-year-old suspect, following an overnight shooting that left a woman dead. On Saturday, July 20, 2024, at approximately 1:22 a.m., Kerrville Police Department officers responded to a report of a shooting at an apartment in the 2800 block of Hunt Street. Deanna Leann Arispe, a 36-year-old occupant of the apartment, was struck by gunfire and later declared deceased at Peterson Regional Medical Center.
