    Mother's Day activities in Denver to do with Mom

    (DENVER, Colo.) Mother's Day is just a few weeks away, and with all the excitement in the air, it can be difficult deciding what to do for the woman who has done everything for you.

    Fortunately, the mile-high city has many choices for commemorating your family's matriarch, from arts and crafts and brunch to a 5k race.

    Here are seven options for fun and exciting activities to celebrate mom this year:

    • Denver Botanic Gardens - Sunday Morning Stroll

    Join mom in a guided nature hike through the high plains short-grass prairie presented by the City of Aurora. Open to all ages, the Sunday stroll costs $5 and will educate participants in the history of the high plains. The stroll will take place at the Plains Conservation Center located at 21901 E. Hampden Avenue, Aurora.

    • Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar - Mother's Day three-course menu - (191 Inverness Drive West
      Englewood)

    If you're looking to treat mom to a delicious dinner, look no further than Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar's three-course menu. Give mom the choice of pairing a filet mignon with crab-stuffed shrimp or lobster tail scampi either on May 8 or May 9.

    The steakhouse is also offering their Mother's Day 3-course menu to be ordered for curbside pickup for those looking to celebrate at home. E-gift cards can also be purchased for mom, as well as a Hess Wine Box featuring two bottles of Hess Collection wine, two glasses and more, also available for curbside pickup.

    • Color Me Mine Littleton - Mother's Day Open Studio 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. (8501 W. Bowles Ave., #1120
      Littleton)

    If you are looking for a creative way to celebrate Mother's Day, Color Me Mine has you covered. Bring mom to the Mother's Day Open Studio to paint fired unglazed pottery, with over 300 bisque options to choose from/

    After patining, staff members will dip the pieces in a clear glaze and then fire them, turning the artwork into a piece of ceramic workmanship. After that, the art will be wrapped and prepared for pick up within 7-10 days.

    • Denver Mother's Day 5K

    Celebrate Mother's Day by joining mom in a 5K race starting at City Park. There will be multiple waves in the race as well as live results, being chip timed by Colorado Race Timing. Registration for $35 ends on May 9 at 9 a.m., with those who register by April 18 will receive a free t-shirt.

    There is a virtual 5k as well, with registration costing $30. The race costs $20 for those ages 14 and under, and Base6Fitness, sponsor of the race will be hosting pre-packet pickup outside their location at 3805 E. Colfax Ave on May 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

    Awards will be distributed to winners in the form of custom die cast medals with custom lanyards for the top three overall men and top three overall women.

    • Ironton Distillery & Crafthouse - Denver Distilleries (3636 Chestnut Pl, Denver)

    For an adventurous Mother's Day brunch filled with yoga, DIY, bouquets and food and drink, Ironton Distillery & Crafthouse is your place. Join the distillery on either May 9 or May 10 to partake in activities with mom including a backyard yoga class from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a DIY hoop wreath creation.

    Those in attendance will also get to try Ironton's new brunch menu as well as a designer bouquet available in two sizes. Reservations are not necessary but are encouraged.

    • Silver Vines Winery (7509 Grandview Ave, Arvada)

    Nothing says Happy Mother's Day more than chocolate and wine, and Silver Vines Winery is here to help make that happen. Bring mom in from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. to experience live music, chocolate and wine for $35 per person. Registration ends on May 1.

    Flowers will also be given out to moms, while Chocolatier Tiffany Chohfi-Burke of Tiffany's Ephiphany will be showcasing her imported chocolate. 10% of sales made on Mother's Day will be donated to WeeCycle, a nonprofit organization that works to help Colorado families in need.

    • The Monkey Barrel (4401 Tejon St, Denver)

    For those mothers looking to reminisce, The Monkey Barrel is hosting an Eighties Brunch, featuring a themed brunch & cocktail menu with vegetarian & vegan options, 30 patio tables, indoor seating and limited reserved seating available. The brunch will be hosted by a DJ who will be playing throwbacks from the 1980s as well to indulge in nostalgia.
