(ALAMEDA COUNTY, Calif.) Two suspects arrested for the murder of Bay Area rapper Lil Yase will not face charges after the Alameda Count district attorney declined to press charges, KRON4 reports.

Suspects Angel Butler, 28, and Jovante Williams, 28, were arrested and booked into the Santa Rita County Jail on Tuesday by Dublin police. They will now be released on Thursday.

The murder of 26-year-old Lil Yase, whose real name is Mark Alexander, happened in the 5100 block of Iron Horse Parkway in Dublin on the morning of Nov. 28, 2020.

Butler was Alexander's ex-girlfriend. Investigators still believe the pair is responsible for his murder.

He was transported to the Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators believed they had apprehended the individuals responsible for the homicide based on DNA belonging to the female suspect’s young child on one of the bullet casings recovered at the scene.

However, the district attorney didn’t agree with the findings and declined to press charges.

Police currently have no additional leads on any potential suspects in the case.

First off, is the DNA testing airproof? Since she was the victim's ex girlfriend, her "young child" may have also been the victim's, and thus half the kId's DNA may be victim's. If the DNA test greatly magnified the DNA as some do, any contamination from the victim can "Look" like DNA from his child. Also, if the new boyfriend got his bullets contaminated by the kid, it suggests he had the ammo around the kid, but does not prove the Mom was in on it. AND VICE VERSA. Assuming the forensic work was valid you still do not know what happened.
