(OAKLAND, Calif.) Two men were wounded in separate shootings in Oakland friday morning, East Bay Times reports.

The first shooting took place at 11:08 a.m. near the intersection of 72nd Avenue and Lacey Street when gunfire was exchanged between two cars, hitting one of the occupants.

The man injured in the shooting got a ride to the hospital and is in stable condition.

The second shooting took place at 11:49 a.m. at a residential property operated by Oakland Housing Authority at 1815 28th avenue.

The shooting stemmed from an argument twom men were engaged in outside of the apartment complex over a paintball gun when one of the men was apparently shot with a real gun in the stomach, according to OHA Chief of Police Carel Duplessis.

One person was detained at the scene of the shooting for questioning, Duplessis said.

The injured man was transported to a nearby hospital where he underwent surgery on Friday afternoon.

    His condition is unknown.

OHA police ask anyone with additional information on the shooting to contact Det. Tyler Walstrum at 510-535-3159.

No arrests have been made at this time.
