NWS: Tropical Storm Beryl caused 9 tornadoes across East Texas
SABINE COUNTY, Texas — Teams from the National Weather Service confirmed nine tornadoes touched down across East Texas as Tropical Storm Beryl was moving through area Monday. The tornadoes, which ranged in ratings from EF0 to EF2, were reported in Sabine, Nacogdoches, Rusk, Shelby, Panola, Harrison and Jasper counties.
Continued NWS tornado confirmations bring East Texas count to 11 during Beryl
EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - The National Weather Service confirmed additional tornadoes occurred in East Texas on Monday from tropical storm Beryl. According to NWS storm surveys, four additional tornadoes were active in Holly Park Marina, Appleby, Timpson, and south of Henderson. NWS also confirmed on Tuesday an EF-2 tornado in Jasper making the total count to five tornadoes from hurricane Beryl.

FEMA announces additional East Texas counties eligible for recovery assistance
NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, Texas — Residents in East Texas counties are eligible for disaster recovery assistance, according to a statement released by FEMA Wednesday. In a press release, FEMA announced that homeowners and renters in Anderson, Nacogdoches, Panola, Rusk and Sabine counties are now eligible for FEMA assistance after the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and flooding that occurred April 26 through June 5.

Fallen trees close Nacogdoches County roads as Beryl approaches
NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - Nacogdoches County Judge Greg Sowell made a disaster declaration as residents prepared for the day’s storms. Judge Greg Sowell made the declaration Monday morning as fallen trees resulted in the closure of several roads including CR 715, 620, 525 and 116. Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office Communications Specialist Tim Monzingo said that no major injuries have been reported in the area, but that they had received reports of significant structure and vehicle damage in Appleby.
