NACOGDOCHES, Texas ( KETK ) – The City of Nacogdoches announced on Monday that their public library was the recipient of two grants totaling $21,841.
How to prevent and treat swimmer’s ear this summer According to a release, the Nacogdoches Public Library received a grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation and from the National Endowment of the Arts (NEA) program.
The library said they received $2,441 from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation as part of the organizations “Adventure Begins at Your Library” project and will provide 500 free books for children of all ages and various activities and experiences.
“We are incredibly thankful to the Dollar General Literacy Foundation for their support. This grant will enable us to enhance our Summer Reading program and provide enriching experiences for the youth in our community,” Crystal Hicks, Nacogdoches Public Library assistant manager, said. “We look forward to seeing the positive impact this project will have on our young readers.”
According to the Nacogdoches Public Library, they were one of 62 organizations nationwide to receive a NEA “Big Read” grant, the grant totaling $19,400 will support a “community reading program focusing on ‘There There’ by Tommy Orange.”

perspectives, and strengthen bonds between neighbors.”
