NACOGDOCHES, Texas ( KETK ) — There was plenty of high school football talent on display in Nacogdoches over the weekend.

SFA Football held its final summer football camp stretched out over three days at Homer Bryce Stadium.

High school players from across the Lone Star State and even outside of Texas came out to compete, get tested and showcase their skills in front of the Lumberjacks coaches.

Over 260 offensive/defensive linemen, running backs and linebackers attended Saturday’s camp, while over 200 skill-position players turned out for Sunday’s camp.

Lumberjacks head football coach Colby Carthel said he was impressed with the speed and overall abilities of the players and also emphasized how the camps really benefit SFA when it comes to recruiting high school football talent.

SFA opens the 2024 football season at home versus North American University on Saturday, August 31st.
