    Nacogdoches County declares local state of disaster as Beryl continues inland

    NACOGDOCHES, Texas ( KETK ) – Nacogdoches County Judge Greg Sowell declared a local state of disaster for Nacogdoches County as they prepare to be in the path of Tropical Storm Beryl.

    According to a release, at 1:35 p.m. on Monday Sowell declared a local state of disaster for Nacogdoches County saying “extraordinary measures must be taken to alleviate the suffering of people and to protect and rehabilitate property.”

    The Nacogdoches County Emergency Management Office released the declaration and reminded residents to be cautious as they expect significant rain, possible tornadoes and strong winds.

    “Some damage in northern parts of the county, including damage to structures and vehicles, road hazards and blockages, have already been reported.”
