NORWALK, Conn. — Connecticut citizens will have an option for early voting next year, in an act passed during the recent legislative session. Polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for four days ahead of the 2024 Presidential primary (Thursday to Sunday) in April and seven days ahead of the State and Federal primary the following August, (Monday to Sunday), with longer hours that Thursday, the Statute says. Polls will be open a full two weeks ahead of the Presidential Election in November 2024 and if there’s a special election to replace a State Senator or State Representative, it would have four days of early voting.

Norwalk Public Library is among six Connecticut libraries where a recently forged partnership between Libraries Without Borders US (LWB) and the Connecticut State Library will strive to expand the libraries’ user bases. A planned year-long program “may include creative solutions such as building intentionally temporary library satellites in community spaces anywhere from laundromats to apartment complexes to grocery store parking lots to community centers,” according to a news release. The project will be jointly funded by the State and the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the federal Library Services and Technology Act.
