Norwalk woman arrested after allegedly driving into police officer, pedestrian
NORWALK, Conn. – A Norwalk police officer and a pedestrian were hit by a car speeding through SoNo early Saturday, Norwalk Police said. Nancy Nava, 25, of 79 Washington St. was arrested and charged with reckless driving and operating under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, according to a news release. Bond was $50,000. Her court date is Sept. 8.
City rolls out new Recreation registration platform

LaKota Oaks sold to NJ-based hospitality company
NORWALK, Conn. — LaKota Oaks, a conference center set on 66.5 acres in West Norwalk, has changed hands. A southern New Jersey-based entity, Madison Lakota Oaks LLC, bought the property, located at 32 Weed Ave., from Queens Plaza West LLC for $21.75 million. Queens Plaza West LLC paid $16 million for it in 2018.
Norwalk robot wins $10k award
NORWALK, Conn. — A robot built by Norwalk’s “First Robotic Cybears Team 6346” recently won the tech-savvy middle and high schoolers a $10,000 donation. The hometown crew placed 14th out of 39 teams in a statewide competition co-sponsored by Norwalk-based packaging machinery maker PDC International and the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute. City looks to spend $2.9M on South Norwalk properties for school
NORWALK, Conn. — The City plans to acquire six properties adjacent to the planned South Norwalk neighborhood school, through the eminent domain process. The Board of Estimate and Taxation on Monday approved a plan to use $2.9 million in funds left over from the recently completed Jefferson Elementary School renovation, therefore not adding to the City’s capital debt. Building and Facilities Manager Alan Lo predicted costs will mount beyond that dollar amount, as residents will need to be relocated.
