PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Nanticoke City Fire Department rescued a dog and a puppy from Harvey’s Creek.

Engine 3 arrived to find a black lab mix female in the middle of the creek on a rock. The members were able to rescue her, but couldn’t find the second dog.

About an hour later, a second call came in to retrieve another dog in the creek from the same area as the first dog. Engine 3 and Command arrived to search for the dog.

The dog was found on a flat rock in the water, according to the fire department. The dog turned out to be a puppy approximately 4-5 months old. The puppy was also retrieved.

Both dogs were taken care of by the fire department until the arrival of the dog warden.

The state dog warden has taken custody of both dogs and were transported to a local animal shelter.
