Bill Belichick, 72, and girlfriend Jordon Hudson, 23, wear matching rings in Nantucket on Fourth of July
Things are heating up between Bill Belichick and his much younger girlfriend. The former New England Patriots head coach, 72, and Jordon Hudson, 23, were photographed having a lovely time over the Fourth of July while sporting matching rings, according to snaps obtained by The Daily Mail. The couple enjoyed a bike ride in Nantucket, Mass., on Thursday, first stopping off at Sconset Market, where they picked up an iced coffee to share. They kept it suitably casual, with Belichick wearing a baseball cap, blue T-shirt and white shorts, while Hudson rocked a red long-sleeved top that showed off her shoulders, white jeans...
A Tame Fourth Of July Reported By Nantucket's First Responders
Two of Nantucket's most popular beaches reached their capacity for vehicles early on the Fourth of July, but overall the island's first responders reported a relatively tame holiday during what is typically Nantucket's busiest day of the year. Crowds swarmed Nobadeer Beach on the south shore and 40th Pole beach...
Beach erosion leaves Nantucket vacation home in peril — watch the astonishing time-lapse video
Real estate is in short supply on the exclusive Massachusetts vacation island of Nantucket — and according to an astonishing viral time-lapse video, the market’s about to get even tighter. The surprising clip shows the ocean practically pounding on the back door of a sumptuous second home at 28 Sheep Pond Road, on the western end of the isle — which recently sold for a jaw-droppingly low $200,000. The 1,700 square foot summer palace, purchased in 1988 by Jean Carlin and Ben Gifford, is “about ready to go in” to the drink, now mere feet from the abode, the Nantucket Current reported. Why luxe...
‘You don’t say something belongs to you when it belongs to someone else’: Nantucket food and wine festival sparks lawsuit
Chances are, there will be some kind of food and wine festival in Nantucket May 14-18 next year. We just don’t know which version yet. That’s because two parties are laying to claim to the annual event at the same date and venue. On one side there’s Nancy Bean, who has owned the Nantucket Wine & Food Festival since 2013. The festival, which draws about 3,000 people each year, has been a popular event on the island for over a quarter of a century. The White Elephant hotel has hosted the festival for about a decade.
Faces Of Nantucket: Ted Jennison
Favorite things about the island: Surfing, sailing, fishing. Ted Jennison’s journey in the seafood industry began when he was just 15 years old, making him the longest-running fishmonger on Nantucket today. Born in Connecticut, Jennison began spending his summers on Nantucket in 1972. In those early years, he remembers getting picked up by Fred Rogers while hitch-hiking and getting chased off the bridge in Madaket by none other than Madaket Millie herself as he was crabbing with friends.
How Bill Belichick and 23-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson celebrated Fourth of July
Sparks were flying in Nantucket on Thursday long before the fireworks began. Bill Belichick and his 23-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, were spotted enjoying a bike ride on the Massachusetts island on the Fourth of July, according to photographs published by the Daily Mail. The couple appeared to sport similar rings on their index fingers, the outlet reported Friday. Hudson, a former Bridgewater State University cheerleader, and Belichick, 72, also took a break from their bikes and relaxed in the shade before celebrating the holiday with loved ones, per the report. Bill Belichick never mentioned 23-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson during season: Ex-Patriot The couple previously enjoyed...
Citizen Petition Seeks To Extend Nantucket's "Demolition Delay" Bylaw
How long should a property owner have to wait before they're allowed to demolish their home?. The Nantucket Preservation Trust (NPT) is sponsoring a citizen’s warrant article for the 2024 Special Town Meeting seeking to extend the period property owners are required to wait for would-be movers to claim buildings that would otherwise be destroyed before beginning demolition. The article also clears up some language obligating homeowners to wait until after they have acquired a certificate of appropriateness from the Historic District Commission (HDC) and completed the building commissioner’s review before posting the public notice that begins the countdown to demolition.
There once was a basket from Nantucket
What's the difference between a lightship basket and a friendship basket? You may have seen both terms applied to the famous wood and rattan woven baskets made in Nantucket. Lightship baskets, the original name given to this distinctive style, were originally made by the crews of lightships, which were essentially floating lighthouses, in the late 1800s. The work left the crew with long stretches of time with little to do, so they turned their attention to making baskets in the time-honored tradition of sailors making crafts to pass the time at sea.
New Legislative Push Against Speed Rules Comes From Down South
A call from lawmakers thousands of miles from the Vineyard’s shores could spare the Island from new marine speed restrictions that would result in ferry service cuts. In 2022, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration proposed speed limits for large vessels across the eastern seaboard in order to protect the critically endangered North Atlantic right whale. The plan, which is currently under consideration, has been met with protests from the Steamship Authority and other ferry services to the Vineyard and Nantucket for the potentially devastating effects it could have on the Islands’ economies.
