Former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick, 72, and his 23-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, aren’t letting the chatter about their age-gap sack their romance. The newly unveiled couple showed off some PDA following a dinner date at the exclusive club, The Boarding House, with pals in Nantucket, Mass. on Wednesday night. In photos obtained by the Daily Mail, Hudson could be seen firmly holding onto her beau’s arm as they strolled down the cobblestone streets of the picturesque island. Joy Behar mocks Bill Belichick’s romance with 23-year-old Jordon Hudson: ‘Only so much Viagra in the world’ Meanwhile, the NFL icon looked proud...

A mailbox with no home behind it in Madaket in a section of Nantucket where homes have had to be moved or demolished. Earlier this year, a waterfront house on Nantucket made headlines after its listing price plummeted 74% in the span of about six months. The three-bedroom, two-bathroom home dropped from $2.3 million all the way down to $600,000 after 70 feet of nearby shoreline was eaten away in Nor’easter, putting the property at risk.

Stop The Pools On Mariner Way
To the editor: The construction of three large houses plus a cottage on Mariner Way at the gateway to the Old Historic District (OHD) has left most passersby gasping in disbelief. The scale and density are in stark contrast with the area's historic charm. Shockingly, abutters were not notified of...

Tipping Point Celebrates Judges's Denial Of Motion To Reconsider Surfside Crossing Decision
To the editor: On June 11, 2024, Nantucket Tipping Point and the Land Council won again in Superior Court. State Superior Court Judge Gildea did again what the Nantucket executive governing body, the Select Board, could not muster the strength to do- say no to the risky high-density development Surfside Crossing.
Urging The Select Board To Support The Conservation Commission On New Wetlands Regulations
Note: this letter was originally sent to the Select Board. To the editor: We note that the Board will be reviewing the proposed amendments to the Nantucket Wetland Regulations at your meeting to be held on June 26. This is an opportunity for the Board to exercise strong leadership in supporting the Coastal Resilience Plan (CRP), and the careful work of the Conservation Commission, by endorsing the adoption of these long-awaited revisions.
Thoughts On The "Wine Festival Dust-Up"
To the editor: I have to admit that the wine festival dust-up made my blood boil, and I don’t even drink. But, once again, it represents a case of an outside group — in this instance, Gordon Fine Wine, a Boston establishment — preemptively taking over a Nantucket tradition.

Chris Perry Column: "My Hypocrisy Only Goes So Far..."
If you believe Ernest Benn when he said “Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it whether it exists or not, diagnosing it incorrectly, and applying the wrong remedy,” then maybe you’ll understand why NOAA thinks the North Atlantic Whale Vessel Strike Reduction Rule is a good “solution” for a problem that does not exist.
Faces Of Nantucket: Johnathan Rodriguez
Favorite thing about the island: The community and the calmness and stability the island provides. After growing up in the bustle of New York City in the Bronx, Johnathan Rodriguez found a sanctuary when he came to Nantucket. Since arriving on the island more than two decades ago, he has seized every opportunity to pursue his goals and become an integral part of the community. And earlier this year, he opened his own business on Surfside Road: Rodriguez Laundry.

A vintage battle is fermenting between Nantucket Wine and Food Festival owner Nancy Bean and Gordon’s Fine Wines & Liquor, a Boston-based distributor and retailer, over the future of the event. After nearly three decades on the island, Bean's Nantucket Wine and Food Festival has suddenly found itself up...
Current Waters: The Way Of Shinkei-Jime And Iki-Jime
The striper fishing and bluefish fishing are status-quo. Bluefish have yet to steal the show, but they are in the mix. The stripers continue to be great from the beach or the boat. The beach fishing has slowed down a bit and efforts there should focus at nighttime. My beach go-to’s at night are the black and purple (blurple) SP minnow and/or the black pre-rigged, double-hook sluggo. That is when I actually get to go beach fishing. Typically I find the painfully slow retrieve to be the most effective.
